On BMW N54 engine there is a very common issue after 60,000 miles which is the valve cover gaskets begin to leak. This causes smoking from the exhaust pipe due to oil leakage from the valve cover. Also this could cause the engine to smoke due to the oil leak. This is an important maintenance requirement for the 335i BMW N54 engine after 60,000 miles. The above picture shows the valve covers which have been removed and the valve cover gaskets replaced. After the replacement we steam cleaned the engine so there is no further oil leaks and smoking issues. This will increase the life of the engine and also resolved the current issue.
BMW 335i Upgrade of Perfomance Ignition Coils
The goal of this modification was to increase the engine performance on the BMW 335 2007 N54 engine. We were able to accomplish this by adding racing ignition coils and software modification. The picture above shows the high performance ingnition coils installed. This modification increased the engine power by approximately 100 horsepower!

Fortunately the customer brought the car in after the check engine light appeared on the 2007 BMW 335 and Ray was able to catch the water pump failure before significant damage to the engine occurred. The customer in this case was lucky he did not continue to drive the car with the water pump and thermostat failure. This failure can typically occur around 80,000 miles or later.
